Imagery Ingestion & Processing Specialist

About the role

The associate is responsible for data quality and support operations of online Geo products. The Imagery Ingestion and Processing Specialist is responsible for the assessment, pre-processing, pipeline ushering, post processing and modification of both first and third party, 2D and 3D aerial/satellite/drone imageries and derivative products (DSM/DTM, Orthophoto’s Mosaics, 3D city models, synthetic obliques and synthetic nadir).

• Processing and analyzing global scale raster datasets
• Monitor daily production and quality of data sets
• Interpret data in order to recognize trends and potential problem areas
• Collaborate with cross-functional groups to ensure data flows through the pipeline to production
• Plan and execute daily operations to ensure project goals are met
• Interface with engineering teams to continually improve and automate overall operations process and technical knowledge
• Maintain process documentation and recommend improvements by way of feature requests to engineering teams.
• Identify drivers of latency and quality issues and develop solutions to mitigate with stakeholders
• Prioritize data sets as necessary to meet any SLA/SLO for critical regions
• Monitor bug queues and address issues with appropriate fixes

• 2-3 years experience in the Geospatial industry.
• High school graduate or Masters or equivalent in GIS/ Geospatial/Remote Sensing.
• Hands on experience/working Knowledge of one or more GIS softwares like ArcGIS, Mapinfo, QGIS, or equivalent and/or Expertise in one or more 3D Modelling packages like Sketchup, Maya, 3D Max, Blender, Photoshop, AutoCAD, Open Source image editing software - gimp
• Experience working with one or more scripting languages (shell, python, perl, javascript)
• Experience with SQL
• Experience creating and styling thematic maps
• Exposure to Photogrammetry technology and softwares
• Technological savviness for geospatial products and services
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to operate and communicate effectively with people at all levels of the business.
